Community Bus
Purchased in 2003 with a grant from the IMB Community Foundation the 12 seater (including the driver) bus can be driven by anyone over 25 with a Class C (1A) driving license or above, making it an excellent option for outings, trips or to pick up members of the community for groups or events.
- The bus is primarily available for hire by community groups and not for profit organisations.
- As of 1 August 2011 the fee for not-for-profit organisations that book the bus is $77 per day. An additional fee is charged for overnight hire.This has to be paid before the hire by cash or cheque unless by prior agreement.
- A bond is required from all hirers.
- The only other cost is that the bus must be brought back full of petrol.
- Organisations must provide a copy of their public liability certificate of currency prior to hiring the bus.
- The hirer is allowed unlimited kms during the hire as long as it within a 75km radius.
- Drivers must be aged 25 or over and hold a current Class C (1A) or above license.
- Drivers must complete a driver’s orientation before the hire date.
